Systemic Failure Across 12 LG 5-Ton Units -- Never Fully Operational in 5 Years

Five years ago, we purchased twelve LG 5-ton commercial HVAC units (approximately 60 tons total capacity) through Sanders Heating & Air. In the five years since installation, not once have all twelve units operated simultaneously.

From day one, the systems experienced widespread junction box and connector failures. I was personally present when the installing contractor contacted LG during installation to question whether the correct fittings had been supplied. LG assured them the connectors were correct and would not have been shipped otherwise. Every junction box across the installation ultimately leaked or proved faulty.

These were not isolated defects. The issues were systemic across all twelve units. Over the years, we have experienced repeated outages, extensive service efforts, and ongoing operational disruption. At present, only 7 of the 12 units are functional.

Sanders H

Among the worst of the problems in the world today is "enshitification" : the intentional and planned breaking or "making worse" a product, so that you can upsell a consumer, or lock them into pricy repairs and service. No company does this more prolifically than LG appliances USA. The absolute kings of terrorizing their customers with enshitified products designed to look nice on a showroom floor, then dangerously and violently fail weeks into use. Then comes the best part: killing the spirit of the customer. Enter: the black hole that is the bureaucracy of their "claims department." The icing on the cake that is their nefarious plot, where they entrap the slighted customer in endless cycles of automated phone systems, dozens of newly assigned "SR numbers", claim numbers, client numbers, serial numbers, representative numbers, and more, followed by unreasonably long periods of time between when they swear they will contact you again to help with the claim, only to never actually call.
