I just delivered a baby last week, and overall I have to say that most of the doctors and nurses were extremely helpful, supportive, and caring. We are especially grateful to Dr. Ramirez and Nurse Debbie for everything they did for us.

However, our experience with the resident doctor, Dr. Kyra Best, was extremely disappointing. When she performed the cervical exam to check how dilated my wife was, the examination felt very rough and caused my wife an extraordinary amount of pain. She had several other cervical exams during labor -- including exams before this one, at 3 cm, and at 5 cm dilated -- and none of them caused anywhere near the level of pain that this particular exam did.

We understand that cervical exams during labor are uncomfortable, but based on the difference between this examination and every other examination my wife received, we were very concerned about the way it was performed.

Again, we are truly thankful for the many wonderful nurses and doctor

PCT Gian provided outstanding support during my recent ER visit. He was calm, professional, and clear under pressure, explaining everything so I felt informed and less anxious. His skills were sharp, and he treated me with real compassion even when the department was busy.
Gian made a stressful situation much better. Grateful for team members like him.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hackensack University Medical Center. The staff working at the main entrance lobby was incredibly rude and unprofessional. One female employee was particularly dismissive and would not even make eye contact with us throughout the entire interaction. We tried to get her name, but she was not wearing an employee badge.

The hospital's visiting policy felt more intense than going through TSA. I have visited other hospitals in the area and have never experienced anything like this. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to go upstairs to visit our relative until the person at the lobby could get confirmation from the unit that we could go up.

While sitting in the waiting area, we saw a giant roach roaming around the lobby. It was absolutely disgusting. When I alerted the security guard, his response was, "Okay, what do you want me to do about it?" I reminded him that this is a hospital and that he works there. His response was simp

DO NOT COME HERE. My experience has been absolutely ridiculous and incredibly frustrating. I arrived around 10:30 AM after urgent care specifically sent me here for a CT scan because of a painful lump behind my ear that needed to be evaluated. I was told I would be in and out and that they were going to get me into CT ASAP.

Instead, I waited for nearly 3 hours before I was finally told by the staff that I had actually been skipped over for the CT scan. At that point, the CT department was at maximum capacity with other patients, including people coming in with head injuries, meaning I was told I could potentially be waiting for hours longer. I understand that emergencies have to take priority, but the fact that I was overlooked in the first place and had to sit there for hours before anyone realized it is completely unacceptable.

I ultimately spent over 7 hours in the hospital, including hours waiting for the CT and then additional time waiting for the results. The lack o
