    We've had a frankly difficult few months and decided to treat ourselves to a proper night out and this place ended up being exactly what we needed. From the moment we walked in we felt looked after. The host greeted us warmly, our table was lovely, and the whole atmosphere just put us at ease. Our server picked up immediately on the kind of pace we wanted -- slow, relaxed, no rush -- and matched it perfectly throughout the evening. She made a couple of recommendations that turned out to be brilliant and never once made us feel hurried through any of the courses. The food was the kind that genuinely lifts your mood. Proper flavours, generous portions, beautifully presented but not so fussy that you can't just dive in. We shared a starter, had a main each, and finished with a dessert we absolutely shouldn't have had room for but somehow found space. Every plate was a winner. The wine was poured with proper care and the bill came at exactly the right moment, not before, not too long after
