    We'd been eyeing Kai Creamery at Mitsuwa for a while since we stop by the store now and then. Hot summer day, long drive, so we finally caved and grabbed dessert.<br>We got two cups: strawberry and black sesame. I had the black sesame and thought it was pretty decent -- creamy, thick, and nutty, which is right up my alley since I usually go for nutty flavors.<br>My wife's strawberry was another story. It tasted artificial and the texture was off, so she didn't finish it. I had a couple spoonfuls and agreed.<br>For a Japanese spot inside a Japanese market, we expected something a little more premium. Not bad, just not impressive -- pretty mid overall. Probably wouldn't go out of my way for it again.

    One of the worst ice cream I ever ate. It tasted like they put in flour in it. Was too expensive. My wife roof three boys and threw away her ice cream. Moreover they did not even gave napkins for any spills.

    Located inside Mitsuwa Supermarket, this is my go-to spot for hojicha soft serve. It's creamy, delicious, and the hojicha powder on top adds a nice aroma and extra flavor. I've also tried the matcha soft serve. It's good, but the matcha taste is on the milder side. If you're choosing between the two, I'd definitely recommend the hojicha.

    This is an ice cream shop that replaced Matcha Love in the Mitsuwa Marketplace. It's an expansion of Kai Cafe and Kai Sweets are just across from it. The offering is roughly the same with a few additions. I tried their hojicha and the flavor was good jut the texture was a little off. It was not as creamy as I expected it to be and definitely not as good as the store they replaced.
