  I am extremely disappointed with our experience at Bergen Equestrian Center's camp.<br><br>We enrolled our son because he was genuinely excited to learn about horses and horseback riding. Unfortunately, instead of feeling welcomed and encouraged, he repeatedly felt excluded during the program.<br><br>He told us that some of the girls excluded him and even told the instructors that he was "not important." He also repeatedly ended up being the last child to choose his riding time. I understand that social conflicts can happen among children, and I would not normally judge a camp based solely on children's behavior. What concerns me much more is how the adults handled--or failed to handle--the situation.<br><br>What I personally witnessed at drop-off was particularly upsetting. My son walked in and politely said "Hi" to an instructor. She did not respond or acknowledge him and continued chatting with the other children. He stood there waiting for quite some time while no adult welcomed hi

  Our daughter Clara has been taking riding lessons here for some time, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. First she rode with Mary, and more recently with Delia. Both instructors are incredibly patient, kind, and wonderful with children.<br><br>Even though Clara doesn't speak English very well yet, they have always found a way to communicate with her and make her feel comfortable and confident. Thanks to their encouragement and professionalism, she has made great progress and always looks forward to her lessons.<br><br>The horses are calm, gentle, and very well matched to each rider, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for children to learn. We truly appreciate the care, dedication, and positive atmosphere at Bergen Equestrian Center. We highly recommend it to any family looking for a great place for children to learn horseback riding.

  I had two instructors, they were just rude and careless+on their phones a lot (meaning won't check if you wear your helmet properly, if you fall, etc). She literally gave me a dirty look and threw the nastiest boots for me to wear. Just entitled/conceited attitude altogether.<br><br>This other trainer uses super abusive language, she put me in a smaller room and kept gaslighting me how I still can't get the horse to run when it's already the second lesson...that I should know better than this...honestly surprised i didn't snap back and let her bully into it.<br><br>They made a kid ride an adult horse, wouldn't be surprised if you get seriously injured here since the trainers just don't care

We have 17 different instructors here on a weekly basis, if one does not work with your learning style, please ask to talk to a manager and we would be happy to assist you in finding a better match.
