  While in NJ from out of state, I made an appointment at Mattegloss. Lorena gave me a wonderful manicure; she did an especially great job with my cuticles which were in not the best condition. I was very pleased and would definitely book again next time I'm in the area.

  I had a mixed experience at this establishment, and I feel it's important to share both the positives and negatives:<br><br>Positives:<br><br>* The quality of work I received during my visits was excellent. The services were well done and met my expectations.<br><br>Negatives:<br><br>* Staffing Issues: On multiple occasions, I noticed that the place was severely understaffed, often having only one or two workers available.<br><br>* Service Availability: I was only able to receive service twice, and it felt like luck rather than a reliable schedule.<br><br>* Management's Attention: During one visit, I was told no one was available while the owner or manager was getting her nails done, which felt unprofessional.<br><br>* Communication Barriers: I attempted to make an appointment over the phone, but a language barrier made it impossible to communicate effectively.<br><br>Overall, while the quality of the services is commendable, the staffing and communication issues significantly impacted

  Used Melissa for the first time and must say that she is absolutely magnificent! Had a UV gel manicure! The picture speaks for itself! I did not use any creams or oils before I took this picture.

  I really wanted to like this place because everyone was genuinely sweet, from the receptionist to the nail techs. I was helped right away, the salon is in the mall so parking is easy, and the space itself is cute. I also got a pedicure first, and that came out pretty good. I'd actually go back for a pedi.<br><br>Unfortunately, the manicure was a completely different story. I booked online a few days before and chose "any available tech" since I had never been here before. When I arrived, I showed two inspo pics, one simple and one more detailed, and was told they could do either. I chose the more detailed one, but honestly, I wish the receptionist had just been upfront and told me the person who could actually do that kind of work wasn't available. I would have been totally fine doing a simple French manicure or even just one solid color. I just wanted to leave with something presentable.<br><br>What I got looked nowhere near the photo. Maybe 20% similar at best. But even if it didn't

  I called in for an emergency appointment since I was visiting the area, and was able to get seen, same day, fortunately. I had on Gel X nails from another salon, which were overdue for a fresh set. (A little backstory: One of my nails started to peel up and was painful to the touch.) The nail tech took great care of my nails, especially my questionable nail (that had cracked), and I was able to keep the length (and strength) to the rest of my nails.<br><br>The place is so lux! I had no clue this existed at the river side mall! It's right between the Bloomingdale's and the maggiano's restaurant! There were tons of options available, lots of colors to choose from, and they were extremely kind. I've already recommended to my mom and cousins. I had a great experience and know where to go on my next visit!<br><br>Highly recommend Mattegloss!
