I referred a client to American Group, as I had been working with him for over three years in Pennsylvania. When he decided to purchase in New York, he asked me to send all of his documents to the new brokerage while assuring me that I would still be compensated with a referral fee for the work I had done.<br><br>I promptly contacted the broker, Ricardo Urrutia and the agent, Enedina Almonte, at the brokerage he selected. They agreed to honor the referral fee. I provided all the required documents along with a referral agreement (black sheet) for them to sign. Despite multiple follow-ups, they never signed the document and never paid the referral fee.<br><br>Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing and unprofessional. As a fellow real estate professional, honoring referral agreements is not just ethical--it's standard practice. I would caution other agents about working with this team unless agreements are fully signed and honored upfront.
